Closing the ocean season
in Baltimore

October 2018
Storyteller: Ivan Brigida
The skipper and ocean lover.
Although October started already, we said to ourselves it is still not late to go. We were counting on a good sailing weather, and it was pure luck. It turned out to be one of the most memorable cruises in 2018! Just look at the video below.
Six magic moments of sunny sail.
"Relax, watch the coastline, swim, play with dolphins, hook a fish, and admire the sunset"
Bushes Bar - a very authentic place in Baltimore, highly recommended to visit. It has a chart on one wall with all lighthouses nearby that are flashing with the same intervals copying the originals. Another cool chart is a 300-years transcript of all shipwrecks on the South-West Irish coast. You will be also fascinated by many rare old-fashioned parts of the boats that are displayed in the pub.

Next day is promising - sunny and funny!
Coming out of the bay. The mysterious Baltimore beacon (locally known as Lot's wife from the Bible) is guarding the entrance.
Sunset in a calm sea. Never ending happiness!
Preparing to arrive at night: thorough investigation of the approach in the bay and lights on the head will help to navigate in complete darkness.
The best and the only pub (with online reviews) on Bere Island. No phone connection, no customers, but a very hospitable barman.
This is the first time we see an actual shipwreck with the mast rising above the water level.
Close and magnificent rocks! We're safe if we know the area and have a good GPS signal =)
Team lunch before we go for the long drive back to Dublin.
