On the east direction from Kinsale we sail to Cork Harbour to enjoy rural charm of its town and villages form the sea. Irish sailors would say that CorK Harbour would warrant a book on its own, as one of the finest and largest seaways in Ireland – it is known known worldwide as a sailing centre. The Harbour has extensive shallows and drying banks, twelve islands and wide choice of ports – a paradise for sailing explorers as we are. In our sailing trip we might visit peaceful Dreke's Pool, followed by Cobh, which was the final port of call for the Titanic , Crossheaven – historically the epicentre of activity, where the RCUC is located and finally, our favourite place: gorgeous and quite East Ferry marina.

East Ferry is a quiet end of the Cork Harbour with rural and scenic ambience. Peaceful place with no buildings nearby, however there is a local family pub and mysterious Holy Trinity Church in a moonlight on the other side. Last time we have found it half-underwater after the storm Ophelia.

We observed a marvellous sunset coming down and charming night sky with stars and moon, which you can see right sitting on the boat with glass of wine or a stronger spirit.

Cobh (pronounced "cove") is a charming hill town on a glistening estuary, speckled with brightly coloured houses and overlooked by a splendid cathedral. It is popular with sailing and cruising lines as the second-largest natural harbour in the world (after Sidney Harbour in Australia). Cobh also was the final port of call for the Titanic, so you can touch a part of this famous but tragic story.

Cobh lies on the south side of Great Island, one of three islands in the Cork Harbour. The other two are Haulbowline Island and the Spike Island. The latter is an 18th century British artillery fortification, that used to be a prison for thousands of convicts were transported to Australia in 19th century

The historic town of Youghal (Eochaill; pronounced 'yawl'), at the mouth of the River Blackwater, was one the main medieval ports in Ireland. Take a little time in this ancient seaport of Youghal and you'll sniff out some of its once-walled past and enjoy views of the wide River Black-water estuary and, of course, Youghal lighthouse on Moll Goggin's Corner from the ocean perspective.

The coast west of Youghal is characterised by two prominent headlands, each with a small offlying island. On of it - Ballycotton village with its prominent lighthouse is seven miles to the west. Needless to say, as Ballycotton is both a fishing community and a sea angling centre, the seafood available locally, either cooked or fresh, is exceptional.

Charles Fort (17th century) is a wonderful combination of history, architecture and the atmosphere of green and mysterious Ireland.

Also we can meet a double rainbow or dolphins near the famous and stunning lighthouse at the Old Head of Kinsale, which was build in 1853 and still is key light point for ships on the south coast. You can see Old Head of Kinsale during sunset on our cover picture, it is really thundering.

Courtmacsherry is a tiny village with just one main street along the cost. We found cozy breakfast place called "the golden pheasant" with tasty bakery and birds zoo. In a good weather there is also a long hiking route thats starts through ferns and continues along the beautiful cost with a sea view.

Once people of this village tried to save a large fin whale, who wanted to see the beauties of this place and stuck in the mud in low tide. So you should really carefully check the tides before entering this marina.
